Aurora
Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th 1996 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized in the form of AURORA is an Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 with great praise from bloggers as well as the press. The singer has released a number of high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by the band Oasis) to accompany John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole), which were widely appreciated. Katy Perry's endorsement of her hit song Runaway via a blog post gave the artist some additional praise. It was her birthday celebration. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was locating a keyboard in her loft, and becoming fascinated by the music. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for a profession or a hobby, but rather to gain experience. She started writing songs of her own. Her influence comes from famous writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan along with her love of Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would aid in her gaining recognition, but also let others see their importance to the world and appreciate what can be done with them, she decided to begin performing publicly. Her first piano lesson was when she was just 6 years old and started writing songs at the age of nine. Her family didn't hear about it until she turned 14. Aurora wasn't just a fantasy of childhood. She claims she loves to compose songs. She claims that music is her favorite way of feeling anything.
